Manly Peak is usually photographed from Zabriski Point. I have long felt that the background clutter took away from the forms in the picture. So, I decided to hike below the peak and after a full day of waiting, I found this scene. The clouds nicely echo the base of the peak, forming a surprising complex view of a simple scene. The trail winding through the image adds dimensionality.
