Freed from above, the fallen rock glows from the reflected light of the canyon wall and blue sky above.  The wall opposite the photograph shines bright red light into the overhang giving it the incredible orange glow.  The rocks below, having fallen from this overhang, are able to pick direct blue light from the sky, giving them the bluer cast.  The spaces are divided in the classic threes.
